To ensure better coordination among alliance partners, the NDA constituents on Tuesday decided to form three-member committees in each Lok Sabha constituency for the 2024 polls.
A meeting of the coordination committee of all the three constituent parties of BJP, Shiv Sena and NCP (Ajit Pawar faction) was held at the residence of Minister for Higher and Technical Education Chandrakant Patil on Tuesday.
BJP MLA Ashish Shelar said, “Keeping in mind the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, NDA has envisaged to win more than 45 out of the 48 Lok Sabha constituencies and for that some decisions were made at Chief Minister Eknath Shinde’s residence a few days ago. It was necessary to take those decisions ahead.”
The responsibility of coordination will rest with the coordination committee and other leaders as well. But at the same time, he said, “it was decided that in every Lok Sabha constituency, a coordination committee with leaders of all the three parties and the constituent parties of the NDA will also work as a team.”
Similarly, for Assembly polls where NDA will contest together as allies, it has been decided to have in place a core group comprising representation from all pre-poll parties on every constituency.
While stating the communication between our Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar is good, Shelar said, “we are glad that we do not need a third person to strike a conversation between them. They directly speak to each other on all important issues and work as a strong team.”
