Jewellery shop robbed,hunt for staffer

Dongi police are on the lookout for an employee of GM Jewellers,Byculla,for allegedly robbing cash and jewellery worth around Rs 50 lakh.

Dongi police are on the lookout for an employee of GM Jewellers,Byculla,for allegedly robbing cash and jewellery worth around Rs 50 lakh. Police said the employee,identified by store owner Ramesh Shah as Raju,had been working at the store for the past year. The suspect had spent Friday night at the store. He broke open a drawer,took the locker keys and fled with 1.52 kg of gold and silver and Rs 5-6 lakh in cash,police said.
