Social media influencer Orhan Awatramani, popularly known as Orry, who was supposed to appear before the Mumbai police at 10 am on Thursday in connection with a Rs 252-crore drug case, sent his lawyer seeking time till November 25 to appear before the police. His lawyer told the police that he was not in the city, an official said.

The Anti-Narcotics Cell of the Mumbai police had earlier issued a summons to Orry, following disclosures by Mohammed Salim Shaikh, alias Lavish, who was recently deported from Dubai in connection with several narcotics cases.

Lavish told the police that their cartel, headed by fugitive Salim Dola, had Bollywood celebrities attending drug-fuelled parties. It is in connection with these parties that Orry was summoned by the police.

“We have called him to record his statement in connection with the allegations. Depending on what evidence is found, the future course of action will be decided,” an official said.
