The Bandra police arrested Honey Irani’s driver for allegedly misusing fuel cards worth Rs 12 lakh in connivance with a petrol pump employee. Irani is Bollywood actor Farhan Akhtar’s mother. The driver was identified as Naresh Singh. Police said Naresh’s accomplice Arun Singh worked at a petrol pump in Bandra and allegedly swapped the fuel cards, giving him cash in return for commissions without refuelling the vehicle.
The case was registered by Irani’s manager, Divya Bhatia, on October 1. Naresh had been working as their family driver for several years, and between April 2022 and September 2025, he swapped fuel cards several times at a petrol pump in Bandra and took cash without filling petrol in the vehicle.
The incident came to light after he submitted a bill for 62 litres of petrol at a time; however, the vehicle’s tank capacity is 35 litres, arousing suspicion.
Naresh was arrested, while his accomplice is on the run.
The complainant alleged the total loss was calculated to be around Rs 12 lakh. An FIR was registered under Sections 316 (2) and 318 (4) of the BNS.
