Grammy Award winner Enrique Iglesias is back in India after 13 years for his much-awaited Mumbai concert. The global pop star, best known for chart-toppers like Hero, Bailamos, Escape and Addicted, landed at Kalina Airport yesterday and will perform at MMRDA Grounds, BKC, on October 29 and 30.

Getting in and out of large-scale concerts in India has often been a test of patience — long queues, bottlenecks, and a chaotic rush that can dull the excitement. But this time, ticketing partner District by Zomato says they’ve worked to change that. “We know entry and exit have always been a pain point. So, we’ve invested heavily in infrastructure and planning to make it seamless,” said a spokesperson.

Most entry bands, they added, were home-delivered to ensure smooth access and zero wait time at the gates. To manage the crowds, the team has deployed over 500 security and safety personnel, along with over 200 traffic marshals to streamline vehicle movement.

“The venue features 40+ entry lanes, each with dedicated points for general admission, VIP, and lounge ticket holders. Gates open at 3 PM, and early arrival is encouraged. For the exit, the District has planned a five-gate dispersal system designed to prevent the usual logjam,” added the spokesperson. The organisers have also partnered with Mumbai Metro and BEST to extend services till midnight to make it easier for attendees to get home after the show.

If you’re heading there, here’s everything you should know:

1. The event is open to people aged 5 and above. Every attendee must wear their District Smart Band at all times and carry a valid government-issued photo ID. Re-entry is not allowed. Pets are not allowed.

2. Weather watch: Mumbai’s skies have been unpredictable. While umbrellas are prohibited, it’s best to carry a poncho, raincoat, or jacket.

3. Entry is through Gate 1 is for VIP and Gate 3 for general access. Gates open at 3 pm; the concert starts at 6 pm with opening acts by Progressive Brothers and Jonita Gandhi, followed by Enrique’s performance at 8 pm. The event wraps up by 10 pm. Designated restroom facilities are available in each zone: GA, VIP and Lounge, including wheelchair-accessible washrooms.

4. How to reach & parking details: There’s no parking inside the venue. Opt for public transport, cabs, or carpool. The nearest Metro station is BKC (Aqua Line, 1.4 km) and the service has been extended till midnight for the event. Cityflo buses are also available for return rides (book via Cityflo app). Closest railway stations are Kurla (2.7 km) and Bandra (3.3 km). Bus stops near ICICI Bank BKC are just 400 m away.

For those driving, the nearest paid parking spots include MMRDA Open Car Park (Next to Jio World Garden, 900 m), Jio World Garden Underground Parking (900 m), Trident Pay and Park (900 m), MMRDA Parking (near Canara Bank, 1.2 km), Public Car Park near US Consulate (1.4 km). The nearest free parking spots are R2 Grounds (1.2 km) and Parinee Grounds (Next to ONGC, 1.4 km).

6. When it comes to medical facilities on ground, the spokesperson shared that medical kiosks are strategically positioned across the venue for immediate assistance, with comprehensive emergency SOPs in place to manage any unforeseen situations.

7. Food & Drinks: All food and beverages can be bought only using the District Smart Band — cash, card, or UPI aren’t accepted. Scan your band to top up online but do it wisely considering the balance is non-refundable and valid only for the event. Free hydration points are available, but you need to buy reusable glasses, which are available for purchase at Rs 50. Expect a wide food lineup — from Mezcalita Cantina and The Rameshwaram Café in VIP to Foo, Starbucks, and Good Flippin’ Burgers in General Access.

“Attendees at the event can experience a curated F&B lineup featuring over 30 food brands from across Mumbai, from banh mi to benne dosas, sliders to sushi, kebabs to shawarmas, and popsicles to boba teas. Multiple bars across all sections will serve a variety of cocktails, premium alco-bev, and beers,” added the spokesperson.

8. Wallets and clutch bags up to 6”x9” (subject to frisking) are allowed while backpacks, totes, and bags larger than A4 size (30cm x 18cm) are not allowed. There are no locker facilities, so travel light.

Additionally, around 50 Mumbai Police personnel will be stationed during entry and dispersal, alongside regular traffic police, to aid movement and ensure safety of attendees.
