Good Friday: A journey of suffering to achieve salvation

The enactment began with unfolding of acts on the streets of individual parishes. A total of seven acts, located on different streets, started from the Infant Jesus Church and ended at Snehasadan ground, Shankarwadi.

The enactment took place for the first time at the Infant Jesus Church. Hundreds of people witnessed the enactment of the ‘Son of God carrying the Cross’, in scenes of mourning and redemption.

“The good in Good Friday is that our saviour dies, but his sacrifice is an invitation to understand one’s own life, repent for the sins committed to achieve salvation. This enactment is not just a presentation, but a prayer for peace around the world, a prayer for people to attain salvation,” said Father Daniel Fernandez, assistant priest at the Infant Jesus Church.
