A minor fire broke out and spread at an automobile showroom in Andheri in the early hours of Sunday. Officials maintained that no injuries were reported in the blaze, which was doused nearly six hours later.
According to the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), the blaze broke out inside a Honda showroom, in the intervening night of Saturday and Sunday. The incident was reported at 12.49 am at the showroom, situated near the Kamani Oil gate along Chandivali Farm Road in Andheri East.
The blaze was declared a level-1 fire soon after the Mumbai Fire Brigade (MFB) received the fire call. As the fire raged, it sent plumes of dense smoke into the surrounding area at night. Officials maintained that since the site was empty, no casualties were reported in the fire. The cause of the blaze is yet to be ascertained.
The fire was extinguished at 6.12 am Sunday.
The incident comes a day after a collision involving two vehicles triggered a minor blaze along Marine Drive on Friday evening.
