Man killed in fight between 2 groups in Chembur, 6 held

According to police, the accused were drunk and two of them have a prior criminal record.

THE MUMBAI police arrested six persons for allegedly murdering a man after a fight broke out between two groups in Chembur Monday.

The deceased was identified as Siddharth Kamble (32). Senior inspector Kedari Pawar said that the fight was over an old rivalry.

According to police, the accused were drunk and two of them have a prior criminal record.

An officer said that the incident took place in the Mukund Nagar area when an argument broke out between two groups who reside in the same area .

Of the six arrested accused, Sitaram Jagtap and Suresh Jagtap are history sheeters with six and three cases registered against them respectively.

The accused attacked Kamble and his friend Vikas Dhende.

Sitaram Jagtap allegedly attacked him on the head with a chopper while the other accused were beating up Kamble’s friend Dhende. Kamble was rushed to the Rajawadi hospital where he was declared dead on arrival.

Dhende was given treatment for the injuries he sustained. Based on his statement, the RCF police registered an FIR in the matter.
