The MHB Colony Police has filed a case under the Anti-Superstition and Black Magic Act after a 67-year-old real estate developer alleged that a local stable owner had performed a ‘witchcraft act’ outside his office in Dahisar. Police said the complaint was lodged after the developer came across a wooden board outside his office which had a message threatening his son.

The complainant, in his statement to police, said, “… I went near my office to check… I saw red chilli, a salt-like substance, and an yellow lemon with an iron nail inserted near the shutter of my office. A wooden board was kept against the shutter and the wall of my office, and it had a message that read, ‘Ek ladka hai vo bhi upar jaega’ .” The man then contacted police, and a case was registered under sections 3 (1) and 3 (2) of Maharashtra Prevention and Eradication of Human Sacrifice and other Inhuman, Evil and Aghori Practices and Black Magic Act, 2013 on Saturday.

An officer said, “When we went through the CCTV footage, the stable owner could be seen stepping out of the premises earlier that day, wearing a white shirt and a dhoti. He had covered himself with a blanket.”

Police said a case has been registered against the suspect.
