Burglary accused a history-sheeter: Cops

A complaint was registered and the police then made sketches of Solanki's face based on descriptions.

The Ghatkopar police, investigating into Rs 1.13 crore burglary at a jewellery store in Ghatkopar last week, have found out that the suspect, an employee with the store, is also wanted in a similar case by the Kurla police. A complaint was registered and the police then made sketches of Solanki’s face based on descriptions provided by Jain and the other employees at the store. “Police had circulated sketches of the accused, Umesh Solanki (25), to all police stations in Mumbai. Subsequently, Kurla police contacted Ghatkopar police and told them that Solanki was also wanted for a similar case in their jurisdiction,” said police inspector Yakoob Mulla of the Ghatkopar police station. Both the Ghatkopar and the Kurla police are now trying to trace Solanki, and are also trying to find out whether he has any more such cases registered against him, police said.
