Boy’s body found near Mithi River

The decomposed body of a boy was found on the banks of the Mithi River by Kherwadi police on Friday.

The decomposed body of a boy was found on the banks of the Mithi River by Kherwadi police on Friday. Police are yet to ascertain the identity of the deceased. Police said the boy,aged 10-12 years,died three days ago. The body apparently drifted to the spot,the police said. Senior police inspector Avadhut Chavan said,“The body was found around 11.15am. The boy’s face is unidentifiable as the eyes and skin have been nibbled away by fish. We have alerted all the police stations as no one has yet come in to claim the body.” No murder case has been filed as none of the marks on the deceased’s body indicate any form of violence. The body has been sent to Sion Hospital for post-mortem examination.
