Anjali Tendulkar, the wife of former cricketer Sachin Tendulkar, has purchased an apartment in Mumbai’s Virar. The documents of property registration obtained by zapkey.com show that the purchase was made in May this year.
“I have purchased the flat for one of our staff to stay in,” Anjali Tendulkar told The Indian Express while confirming the purchase.
The flat is on the third floor of the B-wing of a building called Peninsula Heights. It is 391 square feet in area and was purchased for Rs 32 lakh. The sale deed was registered on May 30, 2025. The deal involved a stamp duty of Rs 1.92 lakh and a registration fee of Rs 30,000.
The documents also show that Anjali Tendulkar used a 1 per cent stamp duty concession as a woman house buyer. The state grants women buying property in their own name this concession, with the stamp duty charges in the state ranging between 5 per cent and 7 per cent based on area.
Prices of property in Virar generally range between Rs 6,000 to Rs 9,000 per square foot, with some developments exceeding this level based on connectivity and amenities.
Virar, which is situated north of central Mumbai, has experienced rising residential demand due to comparably low property prices relative to the city centre. The suburb is linked to Mumbai through the Western Railway suburban network.
