The Maharashtra higher and technical education department has granted final permission to open 146 new colleges across the state for the academic year 2023-24, according to a Government Resolution (GR) issued by the department.
Highest among those will be affiliated to the SNDT Women’s University, having jurisdiction across the state with 34 colleges. This will be followed by 22 new colleges under Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU) and 20 colleges affiliated to the University of Mumbai, respectively.
