PAU employees union suspends gate rally

PAU employees have demanded that the state government declare PAU a Central University if it is in no position to pay the arrears.

On the sixth day of the gate rally protest against non-release of arrears of revised pay scales,the PAU employees have demanded that the state government declare PAU a Central University if it is in no position to pay the arrears.

The employees have for now suspended the gate rally after PAU authorities called the union president and general secretary for talks on Monday. At the talks the union members were assured by A C Rana,Comptroller and R K Mahey,Registrar that their demands will be met immediately and requested the union to suspend their protest as the Kisan Mela is scheduled for September 22.

On receiving the assurance from PAU Authorities,the employees executive committee held its meeting immediately and president Harbans Singh Mundi declared that the rally had been suspended. The rally was addressed by Avinash K Sharma,general secretary,Charanjit Singh Sekhon,Sarabjit Singh,senior vice-president,Parveen Kumar Banda,Jasbir Singh,Mahal Singh Sidhu and Mandeep Pal Singh Sekhon.
