Panic gripped Christian Medical College and Hospital (CMCH) for about 6 hours following a bomb hoax on Monday.
Though thorough checking was done,police teams could not find anything from the hospital premises. The operation started about 10 pm and continued till 3 pm. Sniffer dogs were also called.
Division number 3 SHO Brij Mohan said that patients were not shifted anywhere and instead they were not told anything about the search operation. However,strict checking was done due to which the entry of outsiders was restricted for sometime.
Police force was deployed on the hospital premises till late evening. But the police could not ascertain from where the rumour originated.
In the search operation,however,a few mediapersons were manhandled by the hospital staff in the morning.
