MLA Manpreet Singh Ayali on Saturday inaugurated the sewerage treatment plant (STP) at Dakha,Mullanpur. SAD MLA said that the Punjab government is committed towards providing people with safe drinking water,proper sewerage and other facilties. The STP has been executed at a cost of Rs 2.91 crore
under Greater Ludhiana Area Development Authority (GLADA).
The STP,at present,covers 50 per cent of the area under sewerage,while another 50 per cent will be covered within the next month as permission from National Highway Authority of India is awaited as the rest of the area comes under the national highway. Contractor will maintain the STP for three years and in 24 hours this STP will clean 30 lakh litres of sewerage water, Ayali said.
Dr Ambedkar Bhawan being built at a cost of Rs 1 crore will also be completed within a month, he said adding that people of Mullanpur were demanding this STP from a long time. The many problems related to sewerage water which now be solved.
