Jagraon police nab four drug peddlers

Cracking down on drug peddlers,the Ludhiana Rural police have nabbed four drug peddlers in four different cases.

Cracking down on drug peddlers,the Ludhiana Rural (Jagraon) police have nabbed four drug peddlers in four different cases. Two of these recoveries were made on Friday and the other two on Thursday. Jagraon SSP Gurpreet Singh Toor informed that a CIA team,headed by Sub-Inspector Ramanider Singh,caught Jagraon resident Sushil Kumar and recovered 7 kg opium from him at 8.30 am on Friday.

In another case,Jaswant Singh alias Babla of Kular Bhatti near Raikot was arrested by the Raikot police at 1.30 pm on Friday. The cops recovered 22 kg of poppy husk from him. The Jagraon police recovered 5,000 tablets and syrup used in psychotropic drugs from Ratowal village resident Paira Singh at 9 pm on Thursday night. His accomplice Tejwant Singh fled.

The Jagraon Sadar police caught Salim Malik of Ramgah Bhullar and recovered 6-and-a-half kg of poppy husk from him at about 6.30 pm on Thursday. Toor said,“These four cases are the result of police efficiency. We can increase this efficiency if the general public joins hands with the police. The public should come to us with information regarding drug peddlers and we will ensure that this menace is routed from our society.”
