The much hyped green project of Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal is not working well in Ludhiana where saplings have started dying within a few days after their plantation.

Although Deputy Commissioner (DC) Rahul Tiwari had ordered that plants not less than 5 feet tall will be planted on the main roads, these instructions are not being followed.

On the main Ferozepur road, saplings are being planted which are without tree guards. Moreover, they have started getting damaged as well due to heavy vehicular traffic and pollution.

The condition of the plants shows that they have not been maintained after plantation.

The plantation is being supervised by the Forest Department. Newsline tried to contact DFO Daljit Singh Brar but he was not available for comments.
