The Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) on Friday announced the final results of the PCS-2022 examination in which eight women appeared on the top-10 list.
Divya Sikarwar of Agra stood first, followed by Pratiksha Pandey of Lucknow and Namrata Singh of Bulandshahr.
Of a total of 363 selected candidates for different posts, who cleared the examination, 110 are girls (i.e. 33 per cent). Also, 19 of the 39 candidates selected for the post of sub-divisional magistrate (SDM) are women.
The main examination was conducted in September and October last year. The result of main examination was declared on February 9 in which 1,071 candidates were selected and they later appeared for interview for the final selection.
Twenty three of the candidates did not appear for interviews which were conducted from February 20 to March 21. Of the total 364 successful candidates, 334 belong to UP, while the remaining 30 are from other states.
Congratulating the selected candidates, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said, “Congratulations to all the successful candidates in the combined… examination which was conducted by the UPPSC in a transparent and fair manner in a record 10 months.”
He further said, “The record success of the daughters of the state in this examination and the representation of almost every district presents a new picture of Uttar Pradesh.”
UPPSC secretary in-charge Vinod Kumar Gaur said that after completing the selection process with “quality, accuracy, transparency and timeliness”, the result has been declared in 10 months. “The UPPSC has achieved the feat for the first time.”
Fourty of the successful candidates are from Lucknow, 29 from Prayagraj and 15 from Kanpur city, he informed.
