Prayagraj police have registered a fresh FIR against six persons, including three women family members of slain former MP Atiq Ahmed, who are wanted in the murder case of advocate Umesh Pal and his two police bodyguards, which took place in Prayagraj’s Dhoomanganj area on February 24. Three other accused are the alleged shooters of Umesh Pal and his bodyguards.
The fresh case was registered under IPC section 174-A (non-appearance in response to a proclamation under section 82 of Act 2 of 1974) at the Dhoomanganj police station on a complaint lodged by Station House officer Rajesh Kumar Maurya.
DCP, Prayagraj (Nagar), Deepak Bhuker said the fresh case against them was registered as they remained absconding despite the court declaring them proclaimed offenders last month.
The three women are Atiq’s wife Shaista Parveen, Khalid Azim alias Ashraf’s wife Zainab Fatima, and their sister Ayesha Noori — all three have been booked on the murder conspiracy charge. The three other accused, Guddu Muslim, Sabir and Armaan, were allegedly involved in the attack on Umesh Pal and his bodyguards.
Shaista is carrying a reward of Rs 50,000, while Guddu Muslim, Sabir and Armaan are carrying Rs five lakh each. On February 24, when Umesh Pal alias, Krishna Kumar alighted from his car at the entrance of his house in Dhoomanganj, assailants opened fire and hurled bombs at him and his two police bodyguards and escaped in a vehicle.
