Chandpara/Kolkata,June 19

Claiming that the opposition parties, including the CPM,Congress,BJP and Maoists, are plotting to kill her,Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee Wednesday said: “The police have warned me that a conspiracy is being hatched to kill me. It is being done to grab power. The CPM,Congress,BJP,all have joined hands in this sinister plot. But I have also chalked out a detailed plan for my leaders as to what they should do in case I die.’’

In her first rally to kick off the campaign for the panchayat polls, organised at the BDO office ground at Chandpara in North 24-Parganas district, she added that at Kamduni in Barasat where she went Monday to visit the house of the college girl who was raped and killed, there were Maoists and CPM cadres lying in wait for her.

“My security personnel told me that I should not have gone to the village on a motorbike,as I can be killed any time by Maoists.”

The Indian Express has already reported that Mamata had been warned by central security agencies that the Maoists, following the death of their top leader Kishenji at the hands of security forces, had put her on their hit-list.

Meanwhile,a police report, submitted to the state home department, has stated that the Chief Minister runs a ‘very high threat perception’ and should not visit areas that have Naxal presence.

It has been learnt that the Chief Minister’s Office did not keep the local police and other agencies in the loop about Mamata’s visit to Kamduni. When she had reached the victim’s house, she faced public ire. An irate CM had left in haste while terming the protesters as “CPM men and Maoists”.
