The Army foiled a major infiltration bid from across the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch district and seized arms and ammunition in the wee hours of Thursday.

Army PRO Lt Colonel Devender Anand said that two to three heavily armed militants tried to cross over to the Indian side of the LoC. They were challenged by the troops and facing a strong response, they fled to the Pakistan side. Later, during the search, troops seized an AK-47 rifle, nine magazines, 468 steel core and normal rounds, two pistols, four magazines, 60 rounds and six grenades.
