4 lakh jobs, Rs 27,000 crore for health and Rs 15,000 crore for tap water in Rajasthan’s budget 2024-25

Rajasthan Finance Minister Diya Kumari Wednesday presented the state budget for the fiscal year 2024-25, resolving to fill 4 lakh vacancies within the next five years.

The budget’s key priorities included water supply, economic growth, infrastructure development, and youth empowerment, proposing Rs 27,000 crore for the health sector and Rs 15,000 crore to provide tap water to 25 lakh rural houses.

In her address, Kumari emphasised the government’s vision through ten resolutions, including the goal to boost Rajasthan’s economy to USD 350 billion.

Kumari also stated that the Rajasthan government has taken steps to curb paper leak incidents, adding that action has been taken against the mafia and more than 100 arrests have been made.

The government will formulate a youth policy, Kumari said. Meanwhile, free tablets with internet will be provided to meritorious school students.

Kumari added that for the first time, nine greenfield expressways will be built in the state.

Moreover, the budget proposed electricity connection to 2 lakh households, Rs 100 crore for corridor at Khatu Shyam temple, and the formation of Rajasthan Tourism Development Board.
