A truck loaded with LPG cylinders burst into flames after colliding with another truck on the Jaipur-Ajmer highway late on Tuesday, police said.

The impact caused several gas cylinders to explode, triggering a series of blasts that affected nearby vehicles. The fire and explosions could be seen and heard from kilometres away.

Police teams and fire tenders rushed to the spot near the Dudu area, while traffic movement on the highway has been suspended.

CM orders administration to ensure proper treatment

Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma said that the district administration has been ordered to ensure proper treatment of the injured. “The accident of a fire breaking out in a truck loaded with gas cylinders on the Jaipur–Ajmer National Highway in the Mozmabad police station area of Jaipur Rural is extremely tragic. Fire brigade and disaster management teams are engaged in relief and rescue operations at the incident site. Instructions have been given to the district administration to ensure proper treatment for the injured and to provide all possible assistance to those affected,” he said.

“I pray to God for the safety and well-being of all citizens affected by this heart-wrenching incident,” CM Sharma added.

Deputy CM Prem Chand Bairwa, who rushed to the spot, said: “The driver of the vehicle involved in the accident is yet to be identified. No other details or casualties have been reported. The fire has been brought under control. The administration is working diligently…” “Someone hit the LPG cylinder truck from behind. This is what caused the accident. The fire has been brought under control… According to the administration’s report, there have been no casualties… Ambulance is at the spot,” he said.
