The Karimnagar Police have arrested BJP MP Bandi Sanjay Kumar to maintain law and order and peace as the leader called for protests outside SSC examination centres against alleged question paper leaks, states the FIR filed by cops at Karimnagar Two Town police station.

The Karimnagar police arrested Telangana BJP MP Bandi Sanjay Kumar on the intervening night of Tuesday and Wednesday.

The FIR states that news was published in various newspapers regarding SSC question papers ‘leaks’ in Vikarabad and Kamlapur, after which Bandi Sanjay started issuing press notes provoking students to resort to protest and blaming the state government for the ‘leaks’.

While photos of the SSC Telugu exam question paper were circulated a few minutes before the exam started Monday, Hindi exam question paper photos started circulating half an hour after the exam began Tuesday.

The FIR claims that the police received information that the MP motivated his followers and BJP activists to carry out dharnas in front of exam centres so as to disturb the conduct and continuation of further exams. “Such acts of the MP would demoralise the students appearing for SSC exams in which event there is every likelihood of students resorting to extreme measures and the conduct of the MP in that way will disturb the entire exam process in the state which will have serious repercussions on the future of the students,” the FIR states.

The FIR also refers to the FIR filed at Kamlapur Police Station in Warangal district on April 4 regarding the ‘leaking’ of the SSC Hindi exam question paper. “In view of the peaceful conduct of the SSC exams, the future of students, and the possibility of a law-and-order situation arising, it is necessary to make a preventive arrest of the MP,” the FIR states.

In the FIR lodged at Kamlapur police station in Warangal district, the police stated that the headmaster of Zilla Parishad Boys School, M Shiva Prasad, lodged a complaint that he was informed by some students that an unidentified person took photos of the Hindi question paper and posted them on a WhatsApp group.
