Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel on Monday inaugurated a small forest cluster developed by the Gujarat Forest Department using the Miyawaki method of plantation in the Banaskantha district’s Ambaji.
The Chief Minister inaugurated the forest cluster while participating in a state-level celebration of World Environment Day. Local MLAs, MPs, and officials from the Department of Forest and Environment were also in attendance.
The CM urged locals for environment conservation to beat the challenges of climate change and provide a healthy future to upcoming generations.
The small forest cluster developed through Miyawaki method of plantation includes 10,000 saplings of local varieties. Around 82 such clusters of forests measure between 0.5 hectare to two hectar.e Miyawaki is a Japanese technique to create dense forests with native plants. On the occasion, the CM launched a QR code through which people can get details of the nurseries nearby their residences. He also inaugurated some projects of the forest department apart from releasing the fourth edition of a book prepared by the Gujarat Pollution Control Board with information on getting environmental clearances under the environmental laws in Japanese.
