Jagatsinh Vasava joined the AAP in Vyara (Express)

Retired IAS officer Jagatsinh Vasava joined the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) from the Congress in Vyara, Tapi district, on Saturday.

A retired IAS officer of 1982 Assam cadre, Jagatsinh Vasava was with the Congress from January 2019 till December 2022. He contested the Assembly polls thrice unsuccessfully against Ganpat Vasava — once as an NCP candidate from Mangrol (ST) seat in 2017.

AAP state general secretary Manoj Sorathiya said, “He was in touch with Bipin Chaudhary and Snehal Vasava, our candidates from Vyara and Mangrol (ST) respectively, in the 2022 Assembly elections. Jagatsinh joined the party on Saturday. He is soon to get a bigger responsibility in the party.”

Manish Doshi, spokesperson of Congress Gujarat, said, “He joined the party in 2019 but left the party as he did not get a ticket for the state assembly election 2022.”
