The state government on Wednesday announced a 30 per cent hike in salaries for fixed-wage employees. A decision in this regard, which is effective from October, was taken in the meeting of the state cabinet chaired by Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel.
State minister Rushikesh Patel, who is also the government spokesperson, announced the decision while adding that it is going to benefit around 61,560 employees of the state government. It will cause an annual financial burden of Rs 548.64 crore on the state exchequer, he added. In reply to a question, Patel said that the hike will be applicable to all the employees on fixed wages in the state, including those of boards and corporations. With the hike, Patel said, the monthly salary of Class 3 employees in the Rs 4,400 grade pay will increase from Rs 38,090 to Rs 49,600.
Similarly, the salary of Class 3 employees in the grade pay of Rs 4,200 and 2,800 will increase from Rs 31,340 to Rs 40,800. The salary of Class 4 employees will rise from Rs 19,950 to Rs 26,000 and from Rs 16,224 to Rs 21,100.
