In May, 19 cadavers were donated, of which 58 organs were successfully transplanted in Gujarat, Health Minister Rushikesh Patel said in a statement Wednesday. According to Patel, this was the highest cadaver donation and transplantation done in a month in the history of Gujarat.

The minister added that recently, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has felicitated State Organ and Tissue Transplant Organisation and it has helped increase cadaver donations in the state.
