YouTuber Elvish Yadav, aides booked for threatening Noida snake venom case witnesses

Saurabh Gupta, a key witness in the snake venom case, moved the court saying that he and his family members are facing threat from Yadav and his gang. “For the past few days, Yadav and his gang members have been following me around my house. My family members and I can be framed or killed in an accident,” Gupta alleged.

He also said that Elvish and his gang members, had been threatening him through their social media accounts.

Saurabh’s brother, Gaurav Gupta, is also a witness in the snake venom case which was registered with the Noida police.

The police have registered a case under section 506(criminal intimidation) of Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita at the Ghaziabad’s Nandgram police station against Elvish Yadav, Lovekesh Kataria, Lakshay Kaushik and six unidentified men on Monday.

Earlier, Yadav and others were arrested last year, following a tip-off from People for Animals, an NGO run by BJP MP Maneka Gandhi.

“The complainant (Saurabh Gupta of the NGO) had reached out to us before but we could not get any evidence then.We have begun our investigation and are collecting all the evidence in this case,” said Poonam Mishra, Assistant Commissioner of Police, Nandgram.

Saurabh said that he had first filed a police complaint on May 15 last year after Yadav and his gang entered his housing society.

“On May 10 of 2024, at around 1.30 am, Elvish and his gang members entered my society in their vehicles, by registering fake names at the society entrance and started taking rounds of the society. We are scared of them and so we filed a case on May 15 of 2024. But there was no action taken against them by the police. Following this now I am forced to present the application before the court,” said the FIR.

Based on Saurabh’s application presented before the court, the court in its order on Monday directed the Nandgram police to register the First Information Report.
