The Delhi Police Sunday arrested a 20-year-old woman and her accomplice for allegedly stabbing a man to death. The murder was in revenge for the man allegedly raping the woman several times after her husband’s death, said the police.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Northeast) Joy Tirkey said that on June 16 at around 8:34 am, the police received information that the body of an unknown man was found at Bela Farm in Shastri Park.

“The shirtless body of a man with sharp weapon injury marks on neck and abdomen was found at the spot,” said the DCP. The police identified the deceased as Abujar, 20. After scrutinising around 20 CCTV cameras, the police zeroed in on the two accused.

Tirkey said, “The accused woman’s husband died due to illness in January this year and he was related to Abujar. According to the woman, Abujar raped her multiple times, and more frequently after her husband’s death”.

The police said she wanted to take revenge and freedom from Abujar and approached a close friend’s husband, who agreed to help her. “The woman took Abujar near Bela Farm to watch the overflowing Yamuna river. There, she and her accomplice stabbed him to death. They threw the body behind the wall at Bela Farm,” said Tirkey, who added that the knife used in the crime was recovered.
