A 20-year-old woman lost her life in a horrifying incident after her head was crushed by a passing vehicle, while she was vomiting from a bus in outer Delhi’s Narela. Police said the woman was travelling in a Haryana Roadways bus when she felt unwell and leaned out of the window to puke.

However, an unknown vehicle came speeding from the opposite side and hit her head. Police said the woman’s body was momentarily stuck between the two vehicles. The accused sped away.

The deceased, identified as Babli Kumari, was travelling to Ludhiana to meet her brother for Rakshabandhan celebrations. She was accompanied by her sister, brother-in-law, and their three children.

As per the police, the incident took place around 1 p.m. They received a call from the SRHC Hospital In Narela.

Ravi Kumar Singh, DCP (Outernorth) said, “The doctors told us that a woman named Babli had been in an accident and succumbed to her injuries. Upon inquiry, it was found that she and her family boarded the Haryana Roadways bus from ISBT, Delhi on Wednesday morning and were on their way to Ludhiana. When the bus reached the Alipur area, the woman felt unwell and leaned out of the window to vomit but an unknown vehicle crushed her head.”

Babli lived with her mother in Panthi village in Pratapgarh, UP, and was looking for a job. She and her sister, Poonam were going to meet their elder brother in Ludhiana to celebrate the festival and stay at his house for a few days.

“We don’t know much about the accident since everyone is in shock. Her head was crushed and she got stuck between the two vehicles. The accused didn’t stop and fled from the spot with his vehicle. We suspect it’s a truck or bus but this is not certain as yet. CCTVs around the spot are being checked” said another officer.
