The continuous downpour in Delhi on Saturday triggered waterlogging across the capital. Roads across north, south, east and west Delhi were inundated with heavy rainfall being reported from 8.30 am to 2.30 pm. According to the Met office, 98.7 mm rainfall was logged at the Safdarjung weather observatory, 92 mm at Lodhi Road and 111.4 mm at the Ridge, near Delhi University.
While areas like Minto Bridge — which is one of the places susceptible to flooding — had to be shut, severe waterlogging was reported from ITO, Majnu Ka Tilla, Rohtak Road and the Ring Road.
The Delhi Traffic Police said vehicular movement was affected on Rohtak Road on the carriageway from Tikri Border towards Mundka due to waterlogging in addition to the Ring Road from Rajouri Garden towards Punjabi Bagh near Bharat Darshan Park among many more.
Traffic on Rohtak road in the carriageway from Tikri Border towards Mundka is affected too due to waterlogging. Delhi traffic police has requested citizens to avoid this stretch.
Other waterlogged roads include Aurobindo Marg in the carriageway from IIT towards PTS Malviya Nagar and Bhairon marg in the carriageway from Ring road towards Mathura road.
