With the Centre slashing Delhis budget allocation by about Rs 1,200 crore,Delhi Finance minister A K Walia indicated that the state budget to be presented on March 15 might be tougher.
Against last years Rs 2,435 crore,the Centre has allocated a plan outlay of Rs 1,228 crore. We will have to generate revenue through our own resources, Walia said.
The government was allotted only Rs 50 crore for the Commonwealth Games,but Walia said this will not hamper preparations.
The Delhi Police was allocated Rs 2,836.53 crore,a drop of Rs 127.5 crore. The Central Bureau of Investigation has been allocated Rs 206.25 crore almost Rs 24 crore less than last year. Delhis share in central taxes remains the same at Rs 325 crore.
From last years Rs 130.47 crore,allocation under JNNURM has been hiked to Rs 903.63 crore. Union Finance minister Pranab Mukherjee has also proposed an allocation of Rs 53.5 crore for urban development projects in the NCR. A separate allocation of Rs 176.9 crore was made to the NCR for Games projects.
