Trials on the 4.6-km-long stretch between Majlis Park and Jagatpur Village are nearing completion, Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) said on Thursday.
The Majlis Park and Jagatpur village segment will include three new stations – Burari, Jharoda Majra and Jagatpur village.
Trial runs had started in December last year and the section will be thrown open to the public once all statutory approvals and safety certifications are obtained, DMRC said. This will be the second stretch under the Phase IV expansion to start operations.
In January, the first stretch under the phase – from Janakpuri West to Krishna Park Extension – was opened for passengers.
In a statement, the DMRC said that 70% of the work between Chhatarpur Mandir, IGNOU, Kishangarh and Vasant Kunj corridors is complete. It added that in the last two months, important progress has been made on the Aerocity–Tughlakabad corridor, with three major tunnel breakthroughs.
“These breakthroughs are part of the DMRC’s continuing efforts to expand underground connectivity and streamline the construction process,” it said. Phase IV includes 112 km of new Metro lines.
