Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Wednesday called upon the youth to become “warriors of the nation and culture,” urging them to play an active role in defending Indian civilization and values in the digital age.
Speaking at ISKCON’s Content Creators’ Summit in the Capital, she said the responsibility of safeguarding cultural identity now extends beyond the battlefield to platforms like mobile phones and social media.
“It is not acceptable that someone points fingers at our country and we remain silent. The time has come to respond,” she said, adding, “Today is the time for youth to become warriors of the nation. This battle, whether fought through mobile phones and computers, is just as important as the one fought with weapons on the border.”
“If each of us contributes, even in small ways, to the nation and society, change is inevitable,” Gupta said.
The event, which brought together over 500 content creators, was also attended by Union Environment Minister Bhupender Yadav and Delhi’s Minister of Languages, Tourism, Art & Culture and Water Kapil Mishra.
Mishra said the summit aimed at guiding young voices with influence across the world, describing it as “the need of the hour”. ISKCON announced that it will host a mega youth event in Delhi on October 12, dedicated to the Prime Minister’s ‘Drug-Free India’ campaign and the ‘Viksit Bharat’ initiative. Around 15,000 youth are expected to be in attendance.
Mishra also said that “such events send a strong message about the essential role of youth in advancing culture, spirituality, and national interest”. “Only when the new generation embraces these values will the dream of a developed India be realised,” he said.
