The owner of a steel factory was killed and two labourers were injured on Wednesday,when the roof of a building constructed eight days ago collapsed after its support system was removed,the police said.
The incident occurred at a factory in the Wazirpur Industrial Area early in the morning. While the deceased has been identified as Naveen Kumar (38),one of the injured labourers was said to be Ravi. The identity of the second injured labourer is yet to be ascertained,the police said.
Kumar was declared brought dead at the Babu Jagjeevan Ram Hospital,sources said,adding that the other two are being treated. The roof was built eight days ago. Today,the workers removed the support system for the roof and it collapsed soon after that, a senior police officer said.
The officer said the owner was constructing a roof for the third floor of the building,which was already old. Stating that the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) has been informed about the incident,he said they are currently investigating the reason for the collapse.
