A new tussle erupted between AAP Minister Saurabh Bharadwaj and Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena over the redevelopment of Bhalswa lake, with the former alleging that the L-G is “taking false credit” for work done by Delhi government.
After visiting the Bhalswa lake Tuesday, Saxena tweeted: “Visiting Bhalswa Lake and appreciated the efforts undertaken by DDA in rejuvenating this priceless asset…”
Responding to this, Bharadwaj, who is also the chairman of Delhi Jal Board, said, “The L-G is taking false credit for cleaning Bhalswa lake where work is going on since January 2022…”
L-G Secretariat called it “unfortunate, baseless and bereft of facts” and said that Saxena visited the Bhalswa lake on October 15 last year and after finding it in a pathetic condition, he directed DDA to take over the lake.
“That’s when cleaning work actually started,” the official said.
