Property registration in unauthorised colonies will begin by month-end: Manoj Tiwari

“I want to tell those living in unauthorised colonies that they can be ready to register their properties for a nominal fee in the last week of November,” he said.

The Delhi Development Authority said it is in the process of marking boundaries of these colonies. It added that a part of the work will be completed by next week, following which it will be put online.

The issue of regularisation of unauthorised colonies, home to over 40 lakh people, is the BJP’s major poll plank ahead of next year’s Delhi Assembly polls.

Adding that registration of properties will be based on the general power of attorney possessed by owners, Tiwari said: “Even if multiple people live in different flats on a plot, they will have no problem in getting their individual flats registered.”
