The students, aged between 21 and 23, had planned to meet on Saturday evening. After having dinner at a restaurant, they were crossing the road around 11 pm when the vehicle hit them. The impact was such that the students were thrown across the stretch of the road. Four of them were knocked unconscious.

A huge crowd gathered which informed a police team stationed at the next crossing, and they rushed the students to Navin Hospital 500 metres away. Ayush was referred to Kailash Hospital after his situation deteriorated late Saturday night. Police said he was undergoing treatment for four-five hours but succumbed to injuries.
