Nithari hearing postponed as witness on election duty

A special CBI court postponed the hearing of a Nithari serial killings case on Wednesday after a witness in the rape and murder of eight-year-old Aarti could not appear before it.

A special CBI court postponed the hearing of a Nithari serial killings case on Wednesday after a witness in the rape and murder of eight-year-old Aarti could not appear before it. Investigating officer (UP police) Dinesh Yadav,who conducted an inquiry into the case initially,was summoned to appear before CBI judge Rama Jain. But after he expressed his inability to appear as he was on election duty,the judge fixed May 25 as the next date of hearing. Aarti had gone missing on the afternoon of October 25,2006. Three days later,the police found her remains buried behind Pandher’s house in Nithari.
