Two people died in two separate accidents involving motorcycles and a bus and a tractor trolley, respectively, in Delhi this week, the police said on Friday.

On Friday, a 57-year-old man on his way to work was killed after his motorcycle was hit by a bus in Okhla Phase-1. The police said the accident occurred at around 2.50 pm in front of the Tehkhand Bus Depot.

The police identified the deceased as Dashrath Singh Ojha, a resident of Vikas Nagar in West Delhi. He was riding his motorcycle and was headed towards the ESIC hospital for his guard duty when he was struck by a bus coming from the Tehkhand side, the police said. Investigators said he came under the rear right tyre of the vehicle and died on the spot.

The police identified the bus driver as Rama Kant, a resident of Mohan Baba Nagar, Badarpur, but did not confirm if he had been arrested.

Both the bus and the victim’s motorcycle were found at the spot. The crime team was called in to inspect the scene, and the victim’s belongings were seized. His body was sent to the mortuary. An FIR has been registered and further legal action is underway, the police said.

In another accident earlier this week, a motorcyclist was killed after being run over by a tractor trolley near Najafgarh on Wednesday afternoon, the police said. The accident took place around 1.15 pm in front of Young India Talent School on Main Dhansa Road in Gopal Nagar.

According to the police, the rider of a motorcycle bearing a Delhi registration number was hit and crushed under the rear left tyre of a tractor trolley driven by Amit Kumar, a 32-year-old resident of Jhajjar, Haryana. The driver told police that the motorcycle had come from the left side and collided due to his negligence, leading to the fatal accident.
