Days after his appointment as Delhi Police Commissioner, Satish Golcha has inducted three IPS officers into the Police Secretariat as part of his core team.
The team includes 2015-batch IPS officer Rohit Rajbir Singh, son of the late Delhi Police ACP and ‘encounter specialist’ Rajbir Singh.
He has previously served in the Intelligence Bureau (IB), Department of Sports, and Delhi Police Housing Corporation Limited (DPHCL). In 2023, he was posted as Inspector General (IG) in Arunachal Pradesh. He is currently serving as Joint CP, Eastern Range.
The role of OSD, which is usually handled by an officer of DCP rank, has been assigned to an officer of Joint CP rank.
According to the order, Rohit Rajbir, who was serving as Additional DCP, Dwarka, has been attached to the Secretariat as DCP (Crime).
He served as SP Itanagar when Golcha was appointed DGP in Arunachal Pradesh between 2022 and 2023.
In 2019, he was among the officers injured during stone-pelting incidents in the anti-CAA/NRC protests in Delhi. In Itanagar, he earned recognition for his crackdown on drug syndicates and for launching community policing initiatives.
Vikram K Porwal, a 2016-batch IPS officer, has been attached as DCP (Administration), as per the order.
He previously served as DCP in the Economic Offences Wing (EOW), Supreme Court Security, General Administration, and Delhi Metro. In 2020, he was appointed as Special Officer to the Police Commissioner. Until now, Porwal was serving as DCP (Traffic).
As per the order, Rajiv Ranjan Singh (2010-batch IPS officer), who had been serving as OSD to former Delhi Police Commissioner SBK Singh, has been assigned charge as Additional CP, Eastern Range, until further orders.
S B K Singh held the post of Delhi Police Commissioner for 21 days, up to August 21.
Golcha was appointed to the top post last Thursday, after Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta was attacked inside her house.
