An employee of a private sector bank, who had been on maternity leave, died on Sunday afternoon — hours after she allegedly fell from her balcony and was found on the ground in Valley View Estate, a gated condominium near Gwal Pahari.

Although police are yet to determine the sequence of events, her father has registered a case against her husband, alleging he was having an extra-marital affair and murdered her.

According to police, the couple has two children. “The incident took place at 9 pm on Saturday, and she is believed to have fallen from her eighth-floor flat. She was rushed to a private hospital where she was undergoing treatment, but passed away around noon today,” said Subhash Boken, PRO of Gurgaon Police.

“Her father alleged that her husband was having an affair with a woman in the neighbourhood,” the PRO said.

He added, “A case has been registered and investigations are currently underway.”
