The greenfield spur connects the Delhi-Vadodara Expressway to Jaipur via Bandikui (in Rajasthan’s Dausa district).

The road is expected to reduce logistics costs, support industrial development along the areas it passes through, and benefit farmers by providing better access to the National Capital Region (NCR) consumer base.

Google Maps confirmed the stretch is now fully open and showed a 3.5-hour travel time from IFFCO Chowk in Gurgaon to Jaipur if going non-stop.

Built at a capital cost of ₹2,016 crore, the four-lane, access-controlled stretch aims to decongest existing corridors.

“We have successfully completed the 66.916 km long, 4-lane Greenfield Bandikui Spur, constructed at a capital cost of ₹2,016 crore. This strategically significant project provides direct, access-controlled connectivity between the Delhi–Vadodara Expressway and Jaipur—addressing the lack of a direct route that previously compelled commuters to take longer, fuel-intensive journeys,” Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari had said in a post on X in July.

According to the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), the project is a strategic intervention aimed at addressing the lack of direct connectivity between Jaipur and the Delhi-Vadodara Expressway. “This Spur project will provide direct Access Controlled connectivity from Delhi-Vadodara Expressway to Jaipur, reducing travel time from 3.45 hours to 3 hours, giving major relief to the general public,” an NHAI officer had said.

The stretch was inaugurated on June 1, subject to completion of ongoing safety checks in some stretches, after the foundation stone was laid in February 2023.

It is expected to ease pressure on both National Highway 48 (Delhi-Gurgaon-Jaipur highway) and NH-21 (Jaipur-Dausa section), enhancing safety and overall travel efficiency.
