The son of Gurgaon’s deputy mayor, Parminder Kataria, has gone missing for nearly a week and the police now say he may have been kidnapped.
According to the family, Amit Kumar, 17, went missing on October 15 while he was going for tuition.
Kataria told the police he has not received a ransom call. “A case of kidnapping was registered on Sunday after the family failed to locate him,” police said.
A senior policeman said this is not the first time the class 11 student has disappeared. Earlier, the boy left for Dehradun, saying he was going to visit his brother. But he instead went missing for a few days before returning home.
“We have registered a case of kidnapping because the boy is a minor. Further investigation is on,” said the official.
