Even though the Haryana government is yet to start teaching the Bhagwad Gita as a separate subject, ways to incorporate it in everyday learning in schools has already begun. The State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT) will be organising a ‘Sanskrit Sangam’ on Saturday, in which government schools will be asked to teach portions of the Bhagwad Gita along with Sanskrit language.

“We are in the final stages of revising the present Sanskrit books for all classes. We are incorporating shlokas from the Gita, that will be understood by all,” Manoj Kaushik of SCERT (Gurgaon) said.

“We are in the process of selecting shlokas and will be incorporating them in Sanskrit books according to the level of learning. That is, for each class, only those shlokas that will be understood will be included in the books,” Kaushik said.
