Planning to adopt the ‘Miyawaki’ afforestation technique, the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has announced that four small ‘forests’ will be developed to improve greenery on the cloverleaf located at the NH-48 interchange of Dwarka Expressway.

While inspecting the Dwarka Expressway — the construction of which has reached the final stage — chairman Santosh Kumar Yadav said that four mini forests “(mini Amazons)” using the technique at all four points of cloverleaf on NH-48 will be done.

The Miyawaki method is an afforestation technique for cultivating fast-growing groves of native plants, with the dense, mixed planting intended to simulate the layers of a natural forest.

The expressway will connect Mahipalpur in the national capital with Kherki Daula on NH-48 in Gurgaon. Yadav inspected the Dwarka Expressway from Bajghera to the cloverleaf interchange area on Saturday, along with Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority CEO PC Meena and Gurgaon Deputy Commissioner Nishant Kumar Yadav.

According to officials, with the construction of the expressway, connectivity between Gurgaon and Delhi’s IGI Airport will be improved. The length of the expressway is 18.9 km in the Haryana region and 10.1 km in the Delhi region.

Yadav also discussed the work related to mutual coordination regarding the project with the DC, GMDA CEO, and NHAI officials.
