The drivers of more than 10,000 autorickshaws in Gurgaon went on a day-long strike in a show of support for Anna Hazare. The drivers also staged a silent protest. While most commuters faced problems due to the strike,there were a few who did not mind the day-long strike for the cause. “We are also of the society. This fight against corruption is for everybody,” said Rishi Pal,chief of Gurgaon Auto Union. Meanwhile,around 400 IT professionals from various MNCs across Cyber City took to the streets shouting slogans in favour of Anna and his team.

Five suspected cases of heart attack

Doctors at the medical camp at Ramlila Maidan said that they had attended to five suspected heart attack cases on Wednesday. “All five cases were referred to hospitals and the victims are now doing fine,” said Dr Sanjeev Chibber,at the venue.

Officials at LN Hospital said a patient complaining of chest pain was brought in but was discharged later.

With temperatures down,the medical camp at the Maidan has had fewer cases of dehydration,but spread of water-borne diseases remained a worry,doctors said.
