With South Delhi witnessing a dip in water level, Delhi Jal Board (DJB) has been working on a slew of measures to prevent wastage of water in the area- from providing concessions to consumers using rainwater harvesting systems to using water from Sewage Treatment Plants (STPs) for parks.

According to DJB officials, the body is in talks with the South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC) to ensure that treated water from STPs reach parks.

An SDMC official said, “The plan is still at the discussion stage. There are STPs around Keshav Puram, Sarita Vihar and other others from where treated water will be supplied to parks. This plan has been in the pipeline for around two years but with the measure being one of the plans of the AAP government, the project has been accelerated.”
